

Prof. Matevž Pogačnik teaches at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, and the Head of the Multimedia Lab. He serves as the coordinator for the interdisciplinary Multimedia study program (Bachelors and Masters cycles).
His research focus is directed toward multimedia solutions utilizing virtual and augmented reality technologies, alongside user experience (UX) design, with a particular emphasis on ensuring digital accessibility for elderly and disabled users. He is actively involved in numerous projects in the fields of accessibility, UX design, VR/AR/MR applications, and the creation of new multimedia higher education curricula across Southeastern Europe.
He has participated in more than 40 international and national research and industrial projects. As a visiting professor, he has delivered invited lectures at several foreign universities, including the Graz University of Technology in Austria, the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications (Bonch-Bruevich) in Russia, and the Royal Thimphu College in Bhutan. In 2018, he received the Vidmar Award at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering for outstanding teaching achievements in comprehensive instruction and mentorship.
