The TeachXR project introduces advanced technologies of virtual (VR), augmented (AR), and extended reality (XR) into the Slovenian educational landscape. Its goal is to transform learning processes, improve the quality of teaching, and provide primary and secondary schools with access to modern digital tools that offer students a more experiential, interactive, and creative way of learning.
The central pillar of the project focuses on teacher training, enabling educators to acquire the skills needed to use, develop, and integrate XR content into their subjects. The project offers professional training, hands-on workshops, and access to state-of-the-art equipment, allowing teachers to familiarize themselves with the latest methods of using XR in the classroom. Consequently, students gain the opportunity to learn through visualizations, 3D models, and virtual experiences, which ease the understanding of more demanding concepts and boost motivation.
An important part of TeachXR is the establishment of learning laboratories across Slovenia, which will function as hubs of knowledge, equipment rental, and continuous training even after the project’s conclusion. These laboratories ensure the long-term sustainability of XR solutions by providing permanent access to technology, developing new content, and spreading best practices within the teaching community.
TeachXR enables the development of dedicated educational content, modular tools for XR creation, and the pilot implementation of XR solutions into real school curricula. Trained teachers will be able to start introducing XR into their classrooms during the project lifecycle, testing new didactic approaches and sharing results with other schools. This strengthens cooperation between educational institutions, builds a community of XR pedagogues, and accelerates the development of digital competencies among youth.
The TeachXR project is funded under the Slovenian Recovery and Resilience Plan, supported by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility. TeachXR lays the foundation for the future of digital education, enhances the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy, and ensures that future generations are equipped with the skills required by modern technologies and professions of the future.
